NORAD, Our most beloved enemy

NORAD, an acronym for North American Aerospace Defense Command based out of Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a binational military organization formally established in 1958 by Canada and the United States to monitor and defend North American airspace. Using data from satellites and ground base radar, NORAD monitors, validates and warns of attack against North America by aircraft, missiles or space vehicles. NORAD also provides surveillance and control of the airspace of Canada and the United States.

The NORAD Agreement was first signed by the governments of Canada and the United States on May 12, 1958, and has been renewed for varying periods since that time. Although there have been eight NORAD renewals since 1958, the basic text of the Agreement has been revised substantially only three times -- in 1975, 1981 and 1996.

The commander in chief of NORAD is appointed by, and is responsible to, both the Prime Minister of Canada and the President of the United States. Headquarters NORAD is located at Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, Colo. NORAD command and control is exercised through the Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center, located a short distance away. Cheyenne Mountain serves as a central collection and coordination facility for a worldwide system of sensors designed to provide NORAD with an accurate picture of any aerospace threat.

The bases under NORAD command are not under United States Command:
Phoenix AFB, Colorado Springs: NORAD Command
Tydal AFB, Florida: Location of the only active F-22 Raptors (ranked most highgly capable heavy fighter to date)
Washington D.C.: United States Capital
Rome, New York: (nothing special here)
Ottawa: Canadian Capital
North Bay, OK: Canadian Air Defense
Winniped, MB: Canadian Air Defense NORAD sector Headquarters
McCord AFB, Washington: Suspected testing and holding base for "X-craft"
Elmendorf AFB, Alaska: Alaskan Air Defense Headquarters

That's six US air bases out of our command.

On September 11, 2001, NORAD was fully staffed and currently undergoing project "Gaurdian", a training program for the week in the event of a terror attack. When the Pentagon finally did get fighters up in the air (armed fighters that is), it was already over. Worst off, the fighters weren't even from NORAD controlled bases, they were from Edwards and Langley, and those fighters didn't even know the others were up!

Perhaps they are planning surgical strikes on civillian targets when the FEMA plot rolls into action, quiaff?

Sure, a classic example of one hand not knowing what the other is doing (something that happens between the services, and intelligence agencies, and law enforcement, all the time....) Couple this with an incompetent commander in chief, and you've got a recipe for disaster....which is exactly what the immediate post 9/11 response was.....disastrous....

What little is known is there is a distinct possiblity that flight 93 on 9/11 was taken down. i had happenned to be in the right place at the right time as to overhear that 93 was "downed" It was almost real-time with CNN, who had the story on air 5 minutes later. The "let's roll" story though is possible did give us what we needed that day, heroes. what wouls instill more patriotism? Hyjackers being over-powered by passengers, or americans being taken out og the sky by the Air Force?

NORAD FAILED TO ACT BY LAW!In the 70's,all possible highjackings were referred to NORAD and alert fighters are launched when radar orcommunications are lost.In th 80's,after Koren flight #007,all commerical airlines had installed IFF transponders to Idenify Friend or Foe and,my understanding,when IFF's are turn off (Normal routine when highjacked) our satelites start tracking planes,alert fighters are launched for a visual of plane.Standard Operating Proceduces is when contact is lost with any planeflying in North America,FAA is to contact NORAD and Alert Fighters are launched for visual inspections of planes.No Excuses,No Reasons,No Accountablity-No matter what is said or reasons,Our First Duty as Americans Serving is to Protect Our Country and during confusing situations (excerises,war games,multiple highjackings),the Air Force is ordered to launch All Alert Fighters to response to a possible threat.Period.Normal NORAD response before 9/11 was under 16 minutes per event.These weakness are known and are planned for during excerises.Also,USA does advise other countries that we're preforming wargames on such and such dates which means it is open communication that others could receive and plan an attack against us.Some more fun facts:Mr.Cheney was in charge of overseeing our Security Agencies(President signed order in 6-2001);We had a double agent working for Al-Queda and in 2000,He detailed to us the information he passed on,He's experience as an Amry Intel Officer,special OP's,War planning.He expose our weakness during excerises.the bottom line: Our gov't wanted to reenter Iraq and only when we declare we're War,All information was classified under the War Powers Act and allowed this administration to have control over all information and caused a deversion to enacted thier beliefs.God Bless Us and Hope we resolve all these current issues,which started with 9/11 being executed and thier goals being fulfilled.
