Tonight the show is the results from the all nighter in the haunted hotel, I think this show might contain something paranormal. Either that or they are making stuff up who knows but I was interested to know what type of proof could anyone capture that would be proof there is something paranormal.
Does anyone know a good way to prove that something paranormal actually exists?
also on the scifi channel they have roswell scifi investigates maybe they found something else....

I'm sure there are plenty of shows out there that will "capture" things and call them paranormal. Ghost Hunters sets out to debunk the "evidence" and try to recreate it to be sure.
I just spent last weekend with Jason and Grant from Ghost Hunters at the Stanley Hotel and they seem like very genuine guys. It actually worries them how the show can sometimes be presented in the fact that they are trying to do honest work of this and bring something concrete to the ghost hunting field.

I don't know what tonights episode will bring but while at the Stanley Hotel in room 1302 something ran it's fingers through the back of my hair and that was unmistable and freaky.

If nothing had happened on the live show then they wouldn't be bothering to put together a show for tonight with 'results'. I'm sure that there MUST be some good footage ... and considering their previous luck at that location I am very much looking forward to watching tonight!!

So they did not show any video footage but when they were in the basement they heard someone or something say Hello and also they heard laughter which they have on the video footage and also digital recording.
It sounded loud and near them and the laughter sounded spooky.
Also they had a pro wrestler CM PUNK along with them and he felt a cold spot along with 2 other investigators, all 3 of them felt the cold spot for a couple of minutes.
I wonder if they are using the latest and greatest ghost captureing technologies, does anyone know what would be the best equipment to use?

Does anyone have any idea on why CM Punk was there on Halloween. I can only guess he might be friends with someone or was staying at the hotel. If anything it makes them less creditable. Everybody knows pro-wrestling is fake.

The 'hello' Grant and Jason heard was pretty cool. Sounded very audible too.

I don't understand not doing or going further after the voice was heard. Or why it was ignored how the door closed after he noticed it was opened. Everyone is so calm.

The "voices" that they heard were employees.
The vents in the basement of the hotel travel all the way through the floors. Nobody was supposed to be in the basement and the employees weren't aware that the TAPS team were down there at the time and the girls heard someone moving around below and got spooked and leaned over the vent and asked Hello?
Then you heard giggling because again they didn't know anyone was in the basement at the time and they got spooked over the noises and were giggling nervously.

I keep telling you guys that I was there at the time.

Well thanks for letting us know that it was not a ghostly voice, I am sorry that I missed your earlier post.

Still I love the show and I cannot wait for the next episode.

BTW how did you happen to be in the place and with the people in the show?

Marg - There was a ghost hunting event planned for the Stanley fm Thurs - Sun.
The guy who sponsored the event was there at the time of the actual shooting for the show. He is a close friend and we were let in on the phenomonon that the TAPS team encountered.
Although the team was hesitate to admit it we were able to prove that the voices heard were those of the female employees though at the time and to their benefit Jason and Grant really thought that the voices were otherworldly.

These guys work hard and were exhausted after the long weekend but the entire time were gracious to everyone involved in the investigation.
I too love the show and do not believe that these guys "fluff" anything but aim to disprove.
While we were there plenty was caught on EVP and film. Chris Fleming (not sure if you are familiar with him) was gracious enough to put together all the evidence that the people at the event encountered and presented it to everyone at the end of the weekend.

It was a blast.

Of further note. Room 401 which is the room Jason stayed in and the glass broke and the closet door kept coming open has yet to be disproved.
We have no explanation of the glass breaking but the closet door actually is built up against the old elevator in the hotel. The only elevator in the hotel.
When the elevator moves it rattles the door to the closet which could explain why the door opens HOWEVER it does not explain how it latches itself shut.
I had tried that door myself and it does not close easily. You actually have to turn the knob and push it closed.

Just my few cents on the matter.

thanks, for telling about your experience, I wish I had the opportunity to be in the same place as them for one of their research.

Thanks DDay!
I figured someone would know more about the show than me here.

So do you have any ideas about what is the best way to capture evidence of the paranormal or which equipment was found best?

MegaSlayer and Marg - thanks.
While I admit to being an amateur when it comes to ghost hunting, thankfully I was in good company when it came to learning and seeing what other ghost hunters who have been in the field a while do during an investigation.

Since this trip I have purchased a digital voice recorder. I learned that when going into a haunted place you have less chance of catching an actual orb or apparition but are more likely to catch EVP's in the recorder.

As we were sitting with the group and talking amongst ourselves we were asking if there was anyone in this room that wanted to communicate. Most of the time we just sat and waited and didn't see anything but later upon reviewing the tape we picked up a voice that just said "HEY".
It was whispery but unmistakable. You could hear us talking normally and then this HEY.

So Megaslayer that would be my suggestion to you is to get a recorder. They are fairly inexpensive. Take lots of batteries as spirits tend to drain cameras and recorders if the presence is strong enough.

Paula Donovan was also attending that trip and gave great advice in capturing pictures and what to stay away from as it could mare the photo.
Stay away from mirrors as they tend to cause a reflection even if no light is present. Also stay away from heat ducts as they too can cause steam that we can't see and will mess up photos.

For those of you who love the show and love the people in it. I will give some personal info about them.
Paula is pregnant and due in March with a baby boy.
Brian is with a new girl and they are due to have a baby soon too.
Steve got loaded during the Q & A part of the event and was funny as hell.

Marg - if you are interested the idea is that another trip is going to be planned sometime during the spring to Eastern State Pennitentary in PA.
At this time I don't know if the TAPS team will be present but I think they will be.
