The pro-science crowd are slowly starting to resemble their close-minded adversaries. Dr. Zaius would be proud.
Scientists are the only group that publically applaud one another at conferances when a leading mind stands up and says he was wrong. This is how we
progress.
Are you afraid that science may be the great antidote to the poison of enthusiasm and superstition?
Scientists are explorers, Philosophers are tourists and some Theologians are at home in the cellar looking for a black cat that isn't there.
An relative of mine once said.. “The study of theology, as it stands in the Christian churches, is the study of nothing; it is founded on nothing;
it rests on no principles; it proceeds by no authority; it has no data; it can demonstrate nothing; and it admits of no conclusion”.
Since my Dad became an religious teacher in the English education system I feel more at home with Einstein's words..
"Scientists were rated as great heretics by the church, but they were truly religious men because of their faith in the orderliness of the
universe."
I am sorry if my thoughts and opinions are uncomfortable to you but as far as suggesting there may be people i don't like.. there are none.
I am old enough to be able to unmaliciously disagree with my friends.
