My wife and I have the mini-series "Taken" on DVD.

Are the brief depictions of aliens and their abilities in the series accurate?

What about the "history" in the series - the holding, movement and study of alien craft, artifacts, and technology?

I do not know for sure, but that series was great. If you are on this forum and have not seen "Taken", you are really missing something good.

Matter of fact, I am going to try and see if you can rent it today at the video shop.

Thanks for the reminder, Mondogiwa

I was especially impressed by the series' portayal of implant technology. Those powerful little mind-bending nano-bots could be very close to the real thing.

I tend to think most real implants are actually genetically engineered biological entities; real living organisms implanted for mind and behavior control purposes. Worms and spiders and snails, oh my!

I wasn't all that thrilled with it.

At the end when they went on about the tracking devices coming out of the nose, wrong the tracking device is in the back of the head in the middle of the lower left lobe. The nose one might have been the breathing apparatus which they activate when they take you where you can not breathe the air.

I’m in the minority on this it seems, but I didn’t enjoy it. It was predictable, the acting was poor, and I felt that it was drawn out to the point of being irritating. Plus the cheesey Dakota Fanning voice overs were unbearable. A seven year old waxing philosophies on life, society, and the human condition was tough to swallow. Just my opinion, which is never all that popular to begin with.

The general concept of a family or families being tracked by ETs for GENERATIONS is what impressed me! That is exactly what happened in my family. I seem to be the only one with the telepathic powers, though. Fortunately, we didn't have any evil military men involved.

Yes, I can agree with that. People/families tracked was right. But I think there was a lot there that was fantasy and other stuff wrong. Like the tracking device, it is not in the nose.

The tracking device is in the back of the head in the middle of the lower left lobe. It is smaller then anything any human could ever imagine and we would have to look long and hard. We would need to use our most sophisicated equipment and the magnification would need to be high. However, IT CAN BE LOCATED.
