The Walton Experience - ??????

A few questions....

1> Do you personally think the men are telling the truth about what happened on the mountain? The fact that the men hadn't been together for long would suggest a colaboration of a false story would be unlikely.

2> Are their any other tales of UFO's taking people for multiple days? It generally seems to be a matter of a few hours.

3> This is one of the rare "eye witness" accounts of an abduction. Any theories on why the Aliens would have wanted just one specimen vs taking all the men. Plus Why did their truck work, isn't the general case during abductions that vehicles stop fuctioning?

There are several threads here on Travis Walton. Just do a search and you will find plenty of answers to your questions.

Personally, I believe he believes it. I have read as much as I could about the incident, and I think he truly believes his story.

Maybe by their own moral code once they had come into contact with him and knew perhaps that he was ill, or had caused him an injury themselves, they had to take him and give him treatment.

The great thing is there were multiple eye witnesses who actually saw the UFO event prior to Walton's disappearance. These men all passed polygraph tests on the truthfulness of their experience. One man claiming he was abducted is one thing.
Multiple corroborating witnesses seals this as a genuine UFO/alien event IMO.

What do we make of his mother and others just saying basically "Eh, The aliens will bring him back" and not being upset like the authorities expected?

Ive followef the Travis Walton information closely, and I have never heard of that. Sounds made up.

Rogers and Sheriff Coplan went to tell the news to Walton's mother, Mary Walton Kellett, who lived on a small ranch at Bear Creek, some ten miles from Snowflake. Rogers told her what had happened, and she asked him to repeat the account. She then asked calmly if anyone other than the police and the eyewitnesses had heard the story. Coplan thought her reserved response was odd; this factor contributed to the growing suspicion among police that something other than a UFO was responsible for Walton’s absence. On the other hand, Clark notes that Kellett was known as being generally guarded, and had furthermore raised six children largely by herself under often trying circumstances, which "had long since taught her to not to fly to pieces in the face of crises and tragedies. Yet in the days ahead, as events overwhelmed her, she would show emotion before friends, acquaintances and strangers alike — a fact that would go unmentioned in debunking treatments of the Walton episode." (Clark, 631)

A curious episode occurred in the early stages of publicity for the film. Walton was contacted by a man who claimed to have been hunting with his wife in the same area where Walton saw the UFO. The man reported that they'd seen a disc which shot a beam of blue light, then flown off into the sky. As an active military intelligence officer, the man said he’d reported the sighting to his superiors, who told him keep quiet unless Walton's coworkers were actually charged with a crime related to the disappearance.
