O.k., I never posted anything about this but I thought it was time. Ever seen the original cameras taken to the moon and brought back in Washington,
DC at the Smithsonian? Well. Please go look. They are the NORMAL stock. Look at original photos of the astronauts wearing the camera.
Years after the moon landing, an older family friend who worked for a camera shop in the US decided to do a test with a vintage Hasselblad of the same
generation. The one he used had been dropped and gutted for internal parts and what remained was the body and a lens (also cracked).
He heated his home oven to 200 degrees and placed the camera in the oven.
Hmm. Houston we have a problem. The camera started "melting" and the body began to warp and change in just about five minutes. At ten minutes the
camera was in no shape to function.
The ones on the moon were on the surface of the moon for HOURS at a time and they were FINE and able to come back home.
Someone please explain this!!!
Thanks!
