First let me say.
ARGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!.
Thanks,now that,s out my system I,ll explain.
I am so flickering tired of people mis-interpreting ''escape velocity''
Even on the most respectable scientific sites they do not specifically state that the quoted 11.2km/s at Earth,s surface is the required velocity
for... wait for it..
A BODY WITHOUT PROPULSION..!!!!
I mean..for blummin hecks sake.. If I jumped into my home made Skoda flying saucer and set off into the air at 5 miles per hour ''relative to
Earth'' I COULD escape Earth,s gravity eventually.GIVEN ENOUGH FUEL!!(and a spare engine in the back).
What people fail to realise is that the reason rockets blast into an orbit at a speed of 25,000 miles an hour is so that they can SWITCH OFF their
engines to conserve fuel.
Thanks I REALLY hope I got that off my chest once and for all.
Hmmmm...Maybe this should be in rants
