Where does Your City Rank in terms of Violent Crime?

Morgan Quinto Press publishes an annual report on City Crime Rankings, in book format. But their website gives sample pages that show where major US cities rank in terms of violent crime. It is not necessary to buy the book to see these sample pages.

Cities may be classified as a City or a Metropolitan area. Here are some of the links:

It's interesting to get an idea of where your own area ranks relative to others. From the main site link you provided, one can also get the rankings for education expenditures in their state. I wonder if anyone has done a cross-correlation between the two?

I'm not sure. There is a table of contents, but I'm not sure if this book is just a bunch of facts or if there are any correlation studies in it.

Yes, the education expenditures rankings are there also. So are Birth Rates of Teenage Mothers, smartest state, healthiest state, etc. Lots of interesting info.

I was surprised to see that St. Louis was the most violent city. Detroit was second. Isn't it ironic that these two cities played each other in the World Series?

That is some real useful info there, especially seeing as I am planning another move. Already spotted my target, and it's nice to know I won't be moving to Murder City, USA.

I wonder if they are factoring in East STL though?

I don't know. Some of the cities are classified as "cities" which means within the city limits, ad some are classified as "metros" which include the outer townships or whatever.

Albuquerque is 76th.

I didn't see New Orleans on the list. I'm not sure why that is.

SEATTLE is 132nd. I guess I need to step up the criminal activity and see if I can get it under 100!

My city, Everett, Washington, is ranked 186, with 551 crimes
per 100,000.

And as scramjet already said Seattle, I don't have to
mention the closest biggest city to mine.

Bakersfield,California. Rank-168 569 crimes per 100,000.
