Has anyone else read this book? It's by the guy that did Fatherland, Archangel, Enigman and Pompeii.
It follows the life and career of Cicero, the great latin orator and lawyer, around the time of the fall of the Roman Republic and the rise of
dictators such as Julius Caesar and Pompey.
I've just reached the page when an attack by pirates on Ostia and subsequent popular hysteria is used as a pretext by Pompey and Caesar to usurp the
power of the senate and to concentrate military and political power in the hands of a small cabal.
Is this Robert Harris' take on 9/11? Thoughts on this please, if anyone has them
