Hello
Have just been following the 'dare ya!' thread, which is very interesting, but, coincidentally enough, Macleans dropped on my doorstep today, and
there was a *very* interesting article by Mark Steyn about the changing face of Europe, and how demographics are going to mean that in 50 years,
America is going to be down a few (admittedly shifty at the best of times) allies.
You're not going to get a link from Macleans (they want you to buy the mag), but I would recommend it to anyone.
Here is a review of Steyn's book from the National Review:
america alone
Steyn could fairly be described as being at one end of the political spectrum,
steyn
but his contention that demographics, not smart bombs is going to win a war of cultures in the long term is quite powerful, and certainly got me
thinking.
Does an semi-islamic Europe in 50 years or so mean the end of the world as we know it, which is more or less Steyn's contention?
