So the point is there are more people being born than there are dying and to save the world we all need to stop breathing.

Holy crap! India's popping out babies like there's no tomorrow! And we're belching CO2 like there isn't.

There were very few places that didn't have at least twice as many births as deaths. (and a whole lot that were 10x as many births as deaths...)

We either need to harness space for colonization soon... or switch the whole world to the one baby per couple, rule of China...

We could send everybody to Romania - they were the only one I found that had a higher death rate than birth rate. (Doesn't mean there weren't more, it was just the only one I found.)

I love it when I sit down to read a book, and when it's totally silent, I think about the rest of the world and how many people are getting shot and being born and are involved in car crashes and are getting mugged or whatever else, right at the very moment. It really is incredible.
