Alright, I don't know if this question belongs here, but the answer might determine if it belongs here or not.

I've been a fan of people such as Graham Hancock and John Anthony West for a while now. I've read just about all of Hancock's books and have always been interested in his thories about how temples and pyramids have alignments with certain constellations at a distinct time in history.

The question I wanted to ask is has anybody ever done any research to see if the supposed face on Mars or any other anomalies on Mars line up with any constellations? I don't know if there is any way they could check that, so correct me if there isn't. I just thought this would be an interesting thing to research. I'm not looking for speculation here, just whether or not it's been brought up by any researchers or if anyone has wondered about this.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant to be alittle more specific with this question. Has anybody ever done any research to see if the supposed face on Mars or any other anomalies on Mars line up with any constellations at the time that Hancock places on the alignments here on Earth, around 10500BC?

I think the question of the face on Mars has been pretty much laid to rest now, the anomalies have turned out to be natural forms. Even so, the question of alignments would be problematic in any case I guess - the constellations would be different viewed from Mars plus I'm not sure that sufficient data would be available to calculate alignments - so I would say that it's pretty unlikely that anyone has looked at it.

I've read some of Hancock's work, I agree that he has some interesting ideas.
