This just in from FOX News, they are saying Japanese officials say North Korea may have conducted a second nuclear bomb test....

The first one damaged relations with their closest friend China and they're doing it again?

The whole world is going to be pretty ticked off about this.

TOKYO (Reuters) - North Korea appears to have conducted another nuclear test, Japanese national broadcaster NHK said on Wednesday.

Japanese government sources had information that there was a tremor in North Korea this morning and they were checking on the possibility of a nuclear test, NHK said.

Defying warnings from its neighbors, the United States and the U.N. Security Council, North Korea announced on Monday that it had conducted its first-ever nuclear test. Pyongyang had earlier said a U.S. "threat of nuclear war and sanctions" had forced its hand.

Perhaps they have a bit more nuclear fortitude than once thought... If Routers would ever report the correct news. Nuclear holocost could be eminate if these things ever make the black market.

Here is the current seismograph for Korea

At the bottom of that graph (circled area), you can see what looks like a very weak nuclear signature. The area the arrow is pointing at is something to watch for a bit. I dont know if that is an explosion, or the quake reported off the coast of Japan.

Here is what a typical strong nuclear signature looks like.

Could that be an aftershock, or maybe just normal seismic activity?

I'm no seismologist...

Well the latest from FOX is this is a false alarm, an earthquake in northern Japan was initially mistaken for a nuke test in North Korea.

I heard this on CNN and also got a MSNBC email on it. However, when I went into the link on the email I could not find the story on NBC.

Curiously, the same hour this was reported Japan had a 5.8 earthquake off its shore to the east of the islands according to USGS. Nothing is showing up in N. Korea. Could it be that Japan is just a little bit on edge (understandably)?

Look at (IU/FUNA,Funafuti, Tuvalu), (IU/TIXI, Tiksi, Russia), and (IU/BILL, Bilibino, Russia). Are those really bad earthquakes?!

Very interesting. Did anyone see the graph from IU/BILL, Bilibino, Russia? As I said, I'm no seismologist, but that one looks really screwy! As a matter of fact, several of them are weird.

That is most likely storm noise that you are seeing there.

Also, the circled area on the map above turns out to be an earthquake in China. Sorry. I thought it had started in NK, but the one in China is a few min. earlier. The large one that the arrow is pointing at is the quake. Just took a few extra min. to reach Korea. Sorry again, had a bunch of demanding kiddos jumping on me while I was looking it up.
