umm... did adding a few zeros occur to anybody?

Just to make my self clear, one megaton is one thousand kilotons. One kiloton is 1000 tons of TNT.

So in the "Yield" box, 1000kt=1mg, and so forth.

The scale goes to 99.99 megatons, which incidentally is the larges nuke available so far.

P.S. Typical warhead yield is between 330 to 550 kilotons, with 10 warheads per missile.

Basically a single missile covers Los Angeles entirely.

Always remember that there is no upper limit to the size of a fusion weapon, fission weapons max out at around 500Kt as proved by the super oralloy design used in the Ivy King test shot.

I think this puts the potential damage in perspective: I have been attending school at the University of Illinois Chicago and working for a firm down there, and it would not take a very large weapon to destroy everything I know down there. And its to the point where I would be no less surprised to wake up and look out my window and not see the downtown standing tall as I am seeing it there everyday. Atleast I can take solice in the fact that if something were to happen when I am there during the week, I probably wouldn't even know what happened before I were vaporized or crushed.
