How far would you go?

How far would you go? how far would a human go in order to grasp this amount of power? should this even be a question?

One is not even a human who grasps these reins of power and uses them in action.
Human beings are not designed for the schemes and incredible ambitions of total control, technologically and spiritually.


How far would they go? Would I go? If I could shake hands and claws with a small grey alien and share my fellow human beings with them in exchange for wicked super-future technology and discrete colonization, and I could ride it out the "tough times" in a underground bunker with semi-immortality wet-orasmic pills and virtual reality the likes of Hassan I Sabbah would've spiked somebody for, then yeah, I would take the deal.

Just because it's impossible to imagine doesn't mean that it's impossible that it exists.

not if you just pick it up to analyze it. acknowledge it's properties and it's truth. see it, watch it, observe the truth of it. do all you can do to learn what you can from it.

then, put it back down.

if one could learn the truths of absolute power, and define the corruption of it, then put it back down and walk away from it.. . .

then perhaps they have not been corrupted, but have learned the truth of absolute power and absolute corruption.

and, perhaps simply knowing the truth of absolute power and absolute corruption, then would make you immune to it effects.

If it was for the good of Mankind, I would go as far as possible.

If it meant tracking EVERY human being then I would.

If it meant imposing Sanctions on those who break the law, then so be it.

I was always told that if you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about.

Dogs may hate us because we lock them up, but if we didn't, they may injure a small child, simply because it is in their nature.

While I may not agree with the way certain Governments are handling certain situations, I do agree with their original intentions, and that is making this world a place where peace comes at the price of control.

But we only have to be controlled until the negativity is bred and taught out of us.

Well, just about anything, as long as it did'nt involve killing off 50%+
of the species.

Of course, once the good was done, if it was one thing, I'd destroy it,
however if it was various technologies, they'd be kept seperate and
have limits on who could use them, and how far and in which direction
they'd be developed and used.

That's true for the majority of the population, indeed probably for 99%
of the species.

However, for a small amount of individuals, it's not true.

one step past how far everyone thought they would let me, but only if it were to grast what total world domination could mean, not to obtain it or use it for personnel gain.

Total world domination and helping mankind seem to me to be mutually exclusive.

When in world history have mega-powers ever helped mankind? The more powerful the entity, the more death and destruction has been the result. It goes to the heart of human nature. If your nature is to help people, you're going to be too busy helping all the needy around you to assume world domination; and if you're so driven as to be able to achieve world domination, you are very unlikely to be trying to help folks, technology not withstanding.

It seems to me that the technology you site is very quickly leading to a world domination, and I find it highly unlikely that it is going to benefit mankind as a whole, but rather lead to the worst tyranny ever.
