I have a great idea for a section on the board. This shuld be called "possible future". Membersn would post there them anticipation of the future if...

For example :

what if the alien invades earth, what if human vcolonize the space, what if a new discovery help us to stop all the war inthe instant...etc, etc...

The "possible futures" should be negative, neutral or positive, and can be short, middle and long term.

The topics can be about science, politic, religion, science fiction...

What do you think about it ?

No, it's a kind of game, not a prophecy. Expetetions of what can become the mankind and the earth if...

Nans, no offense here, but you crack me up!

a game?
life is not a game, humanity is not a game.
How about instead of predicting the future, we shape the future to serve humanity.
Why talk about the future when you can be the future?

It sounds great, a "prophecies" forum, however, people when soon acquire a "defensive" attitude towards their ideals (much like TC and Colonel, no offense
).

Also, I believe there ares several threads throughout the board with collected predictions...

with well over 1200 posts per day, the current staff of around 20 people it not enough.
Especially because there are only about 10 online on a daily bases...

If you have a problem with the staff, i suggest you file in a complaint so we can work this out....

Tass, i think we need to think about what can become the humanity if we make this whoice instead of that choice. That's what I meant when I told you it's a little bit like a game.

But, I'm sorry, it's not a debate style forum that I want to make, more something like a fiction forum. The scenarios should be wrote by one person and after the members will be able to discuss this scenario.

You follow me ?

It's a great idea cause my past posts have addressed this subject on many a time and I had no good place to put them.

I think that conspiracy is just as obsessed with what is to happen as it is with what has happened or what is happening.

Frankly, I am more concerned about the future than anything else. I am here now but who knows what is coming tomorrow?

How about a 'Human Hypothisis & Earthly Predictions' category

Of course initially there would be the 'gold rush land grab' of everyone trying to be the first for different things.

The William, if he was inclined, could offer incentive to those that accuratly predict, without edits, with lets say, a points bonus, or even a title such as 'ATS Psycic'.

I am a futurist, but not a science fiction writer.

Yes, YOU !!!

A great idea would be for the board to have a new " search option ". Looking for someone topics and not only post would be very useful.

If this is the case, perhaps it should be a sub-forum of the Short Story section? I think mixing fiction with fact will only lead to confusion. Whatever happens, make it clear that what's being written is fictional

I'm pretty sure this already works ultra_, I quite often search for topic keywords, and always get results. The topic title automatically ends up in the post anyway, so the search looks at it all.

No, because you'll have all the post and topics did by one poster. But you can't do a search based only on " topics ". The results will be all what the poster wrote ( topics AND post ).

Nonsense! I just tried it, just leave the username field blank and only use the "search for" field, works fine!
