The idea by U.k. scientists is fusing human cells with a rabbit egg, allowing them to harvest stem cells without using human embryos.
My question, of course, is if the egg is 99% human -- shouldn't that then be considered a human embryo? It seems scientists are playing symantics a
little bit.
Plus...with 1% rabbit, if they allowed the embryo to full term, what the hell would the progeny look like?
Personally I don't like killing things like that all that much, but it's not like I'll stop 'em. If it helps, go for it. I'd love to see where
stem cell research goes.
What are many of them researching, anyway? I'd be interested in finding out how and why they do what they do.
