How does religion come into all this. The man was upset because israel attacked lebanon and murdered thousands of people.....MURDERED.....he was against murder....so he didnt wanna protect the MURDERERS.......just because he happened to be a muslim guy does NOT mean he did it in the name of religion....he did it in the name of Humanity...something a lot of people have forgotten today. Sheesh....the ignorance keeps growing. I bet if they guy was christian or jewish or any other religion for that matter then people wud consider him a hero for standing up against the system and for showing sympathy for humanity.

I agree it is hopeless. i guess somehitngs wont change. ofcourse the hunter cannot feel how the hunted feels unless the tables r turned. But remember one thing, what goes around comes around. Right now their is aviel on your eyes put on by the media and the news controlled by the government and unless that is lifted nothing will change.

I guess to sum it up, unless Bush comes and agress that all he did was just for oil and for power and everything was orchestrated by the US government for global domination, americans will never believe it.

You just don't get it do you?? A Police officer in the UK has to be seen to be fair and inpartial - he cannot pick and choose who he defends - you start that you are on a slippery slope back to militias.

Now, a copper in London can refuse to defend jews, but scottish fire fighters who didnt want to go to a gay ralley get fired / demoted and accused of homophobia...

so again one rule for muslims one rule for the rest....thats
wrong

There's nothing in the article that indicates that he did not want to protect the embassy. It says he asked for a "welfare" transfer because he felt unsafe ... someone else pointed out that he has a Leabanese spouse and a Syrian father in law. Certainly you could see his concern about being posted as part of the security force for this particular embassy.

Yes, a police officer, firefighter, etc have a duty to protect the public. But they don't have to do so at an unreasonable risk to their own safety. Why should he be made to be part of this particular security force, when if someone finds out about his connections his family could be potentially harmed. On the flip side ... who do you think they would investigate first if something did happen at the embassy while we was on duty?

I think it's a reasonable precaution, made on a welfare basis not on a political basis, I'm sure they can find someone to replace him there.

This article says he was willing to take the post but wanted to make the report to his seniors that he had some concerns over this particular post.

No point trying to justify the police officer because the media already successfully showed him as a potential 'terrorist' by saying that 'He is muslim so he wont protect israel embassy'. Simple statement like that can twist the entire story and change everything.

And funnier thing is that people are quick to jump to conclusions, esp. if a muslim is involved. I congratulate Bush, because he wanted to instill fear in the minds of people against muslims and he succeded. Now he can succesfully attack the muslims in the name of 'war against terrorism' and gain contgrol of their countries. No one will question him because he is killing terrorists, no matter if the 'terrorist' is a baby, woman, kids, man, old men and women, animals.

it really gets me when people see a muslim man and automatically make negative assumptions against him....even though it is very clear that he took written permission from his seniors for a transfer.....thats end of story....if you talk about rules and how he shud stick to them then he did everything according to rule......if there is someone u guys shud take this up with...its the seniors who signed the transfer papers......just let it go
