In the past few weeks, weird things have happened to me when I was asleep. I could feel in my dreams that I had cut off my air supply some nights. I know that it happens to a variety of people, but as of coincidence, I have began reading the satanic bible. Is this my subconcious trying to tell me that I am not me anymore and should not be stopped. Or am I overanalyzing the situation?

If you don't mind me asking, why did you start reading the satanic bible? Is it just for knowledge, fun, or are you getting into satanic religion?

Surely, given this fact, you are not surprised these things have started happening to you. Are you?

Did this just start happening when you started reading the satanic bible or has this happened before? You could have sleep apnea and are stopping breathing in your sleep and then you dream about it.

What are your dreams about? Are demonic entities choking you in your dreams? Not sure what the "bible" would have to do with it unless you feel threatened by entities.

Satan isnt real, its just when people dont understand something they usually think nothing good can come from it so it must be bad/evil. Dont worry though there are evil spirits and they will enter your mind if you let them.

If you do feel that you are being attacked by evil, then i would suggest surrounding yourself in light. Not literall lights, but picture yourself enveloped in light that fills the entire room. When you surround yourself with love and light, no spirits can harm you.

I used to get the feeling of being watched all of the time, and sometimes i would think that i saw things. I just surrounded myself in love and light, and now those feelings are gone and i have no fears. Just a suggestion from my perspective, but if it is something that you are doing to yourself, you will have to go deep into your mind and find out why.

It should be impossible to kill yourself whilst asleep as the brain usually secrets a hormone that prevents people from acting out their dreams.

If you feel as if you stop breathing during the night, it could be sleep apnia or a range of other diseases. I would suggest going to see a doctor as a checkup, especially if you happen to be overweight for your age, (I'm not going to ask over the Internet).

I would suggest that you stop delving into negative things. If it don't feel right to you, leave it alone.
And check a doctor too.
Yeah, you may not be able to kill yourself while sleeping, but that sure as hell doesn't mean that something else won't do it.
It may not even be trying to kill you, just make you life a living hell, which, in some cases, are worst that death.

while i generally agree with your good response,

I'd like to point out...its fairly regular that i have Lucid Dreams, lets say something like
doing some fighting 'martial arts style' against a reptilian alien or a gang of 'nasties'
and i've twice kicked the wall against my bed and had a very sore toe for days.
(i'm fortunate to have missed the window! twice!)

also, laughing myself awake from some joke or situation in the dream has happened more than twice. I guess my hormone regulator is run amok?

Arkham, there are meditation techniques and bio-feedback regimens which help increase your 'Alpha' state brain wave activity....look-up or research that area if your interested

Well, I'm gonna be really boring here and say that it could possibly be a fairly common condition called "Sleep Apnea". But perhaps you've heard of this?

What Is Sleep Apnea?

Wikipedia: Sleep Apnea

Exactly...

Dreams of choking or drowning are normally a sign that you have an issue called sleep apnea. It is generally associated with snoring as well. It basically means that when your body relaxes in sleep, tissue in your throat plugs up your airway causing you to choke. Have your primary DR refer you to a specialist with a sleep lab and they will take care of this problem for you before it causes any other issues.

I read the book for knowledge. I am trying to become a ghosthunter(nobody laugh), and I was trying to gain some of the satanic insight. I am what most people consider actually underweight, and I just thought it was just random events, but I was in need of a possible metaphysical idea. I would research it, but I don't have much time on the internet, they have blocked 95% of the sites here at school. I have started to have a few other things happen to me at night, but I have chalked it up to a odd kind of life I live. I have woke up in odd positions with things scattered about, with no memory of doing it, but I chalked that up to the stress combination of honors english and spanish put into 1 year. Thanks for the help, guys.

Unfortunately, what I said still stands and even more so after your post.

A good scientist in any field should try to eliminate the known before attributing things to the unknown.
Get a sleep study preformed to eliminate any sleep disorder you are having.

Weight is not always the deciding factor in Sleep Apnea, many things can effect it. Deviated Septum, Small Pallet, Over-sized Tonsils, etc…

People with this type of sleep disorder often toss and turn in their sleep and dislodge things around their bed. This is because they are struggling to breath and the brain, when it gets low on oxygen, forces you to kick, move and struggle to break open your airway.

Good news for me. As of this weekend, it has stopped. I have made no changes, it is just that now I rarly can get any sleep.

Hmm, just a thought here. Has anyone one ruled out seizures?
It's quite possible, especially if it's epileptic. Few epileptics, espeically undiagnosed ones, know that they are having a seizure. And if they pass out, when they awak, they won't really know what happened. That'll also explain the items trashed about.

Although, breathing doesn't seem to be a problem with epilepsy. However, the jaws do lock up & while sleeping, it may appear as not beable to breathe during sleep or while dreaming.

Just a thought on the matter.

I am not an epileptic. I play video games too much to be that. I see it as better to not dwell on it.

No, you are not overanalyzing your situation. Cutting off your air supply in your sleep is a bad thing. If you believe in Satan, then that's probably the reason why. Satan is bad. If you don't, then it might be the negativity rubbing off on your subconscious. I can't think of any other reason.

Don't make him scared of that silly demon. Yes, he's powerful, but he is widely misoverestimated ;-) Satan has only power when you're afraid of him. Arkham, turn your mind on the "light side of the force" topics like 7Pan7cho7 suggested.

Maybe you thought 'to beat my enemy, I have to know him' - and therefor started studying the teachings of the Dark Side'. I know that path, I've been walking it. Yet, some masters of old were convinced that the best way to defeat evil is to simply believe in the power of the good. Why not study their insights and wisdoms instead?
