Locust Plague in Mexico, Australia Next

With the the continuing US drought and now threats of locust plagues in Mexico, food prices are set to rise. Next year may shape up to be the "year of the bug" with the 17-year cicada scheduled to make its appearance in the midwest US. Luckily the magicicadas don't eat crops.

Squads wait until night when the flying insects are roosting on plants to blast them. They carry motorized backpack pumps to shoot chemicals in a crusade that has affected from 2,000 to 2,500 acres of farm land.

Sounds like a good place to ship those pesky gatti di Roma. LOL They'd have a ball.
