I actually saw this story about a week or so ago, and a friend and I checked out most of the facts.

Apparently this is pretty legit. However, I dont think that we have anything to worry about, its probably just something to scare us.

Who exactly is Hugh Cort.

Well, he's running for President in 2008 under a Republican ticket. He also wrote an e-book called Saddam's Attacks on America: 1993; September 11, 2001; and the Anthrax Attacks.

To be fair, I haven't read this book, but from the title and a synopsis read, I think this guy's theories are -- well, completely off base, to say the least. So, here's an extreme neocon -- who really isn't even plugged into any of the neocon power brokers, mind you, spreading the word of Osama's nuke attack threat.

He's also apparently running for the State Senate of Alabama; I guess, kinda running two campaigns at once. Here's his financial disclosure

Here's his Ala campaign page

Dr. Hugh Cort is a psychiatrist who has worked at Brookwood Hospital for five years and is now semi-retired and sees patients on a part-time basis at his outpatient clinic in Mountain Brook Office Park. He is a kind and compassionate person with whom people converse easily. His spiritual talent is the gift of encouragement.

Dr. Cort is a resident of Mountain Brook, where he lives with his wife of nearly eighteen years, Deborah.

As a life-long member of the Republican Party and currently a member of the President’s Club of the RNC, Dr. Cort has had the privilege of meeting many Senators and Congressmen, as well as the President, in his years of association with this organization.

Hugh Cort is a member of Cahaba Christian Fellowship and participated in a medical missionary trip to Kenya. He works with a mission group that sends medical supplies, computers and other goods to hospitals, churches and orphanages in Kenya and Tanzania. Dr. Cort is also a member of the Gideons International, who distribute free Bibles world-wide.

A compassionate conservative who believes in traditional values, Dr. Cort strongly supports a pro-life amendment to the U.S. Constitution banning abortion and a pro-marriage amendment stating that marriage is between a man and a woman only. He is against raising taxes and for reducing the size and spending of government. He is pro-business and is in favor of tort reform to reduce frivolous lawsuits.

US needs a very good reason to attack Iran. A significant terror attack blamed on Iran would do the job.

Iran only has issue with the injustice in occupied Palestine in particular, and injustice in general in the Middle East.

Although Iran is often labelled radical, they very rarely instigate force. They may talk radical but the US and Israel act radical.

the only time i would seriously be concerned and actually get my act out of philly is if a bin laden tape does appear within the next 5 days.

the most logical reason why bin laden has not been heard from in a long time, is probally becasue HE is the signal to launch the attack.

everyone under him has warned about what will happen, his tape signals the go ahead.

basically a tape appearing somtimes this week gives instant backing towards this guy saying a nuke is about to go off.

If you'd be worried about a nuke attack, then yes, I'd be worried about now. We've been told by various officials over the years that it was coming. Cheney even said once on 60 Minutes that it was only a matter of time. Who would know better than the guys that are going to be behind it?

The US couldn't invade Iran right now if it wanted, or any other country. Significant domestic unrest would develop. But another 9/11, more catastrophic than the last, would shut people up and have us in Iran in no time, even though they're reportedly years away from a bomb (though I wouldn't be surprised if only dirty bombs are detonated).

I think it's in the cards, just not sure exactly when or where. Looks like they're already setting up for a cover story though.

We can ponder "what-if" scenarios all day long but the threat of a nuke going off in the USA was more likely during the height of the Cold War in the 50s and 60s than it is today. I did not grow up during that period but I remember my high school, which was constructed in the early 60s, had a sign saying "Fall Out Shelter".

Bin Laden and Zawahiri will continue making tapes until they are either caught or dead. Who is Abu Dawood? Is Hamid Mir credible? He is coming out with a book so is it surprising he is looking for some publicity? Anyone ever listen to this guy Paul Williams on the radio? His slow, stuttering responses to questions posed by radio talk show hosts does not sound to me like he truly believes in what he states to be factual.

Conspiracy theorists, journalist's with political agendas, and "intelligence experts" can sell you bills of goods all day long but at the end of the day, you have to use reasoning.

I did listen to his interview and I found him to sound credible, reasonable, and sane. (unfortunately!) Here's a link to it, judge for yourself: www.canadafreepress.com...

I have been following the news concerning Adnan El Shukrijumah for sometime. I have no "insider" info at all. But as an outsider trying (as everyone else) to make reasonable, sound judgments with limited info, I do believe that he is a real threat. I have some specific scenarios that really concern me but I hesitate to post them on here. I would never want to be the one who gives them an idea that they haven't thought of. Let's just say that Sunday afternoons really worry me.

I, for one, do NOT believe that our government is going to purposefully allow something to happen in order to justify an attack on Iran, etc...

I do, however, have a gut-level feeling that we have been blackmailed by AQ since 9/11. Is it possible that our gov't knows that they are in possession of biological and/or nuclear weapons and that such weapons are already in the US? Could this explain why Bin Laden hasn't been captured? Could a deal have been struck? These are just questions, but I feel they need to be asked because if true, it would explain alot. And IMO, such a deal would be justified.
