Stanford University Medical center and Packard Childrens hospital have joined a small number or academic medical facilities that have banned its staff
from accepting gifts, including drug samples, from pharma companies or other medical equipment makers. This includes a ban on industry reps from the
hospital and the medical school unless they are providing an in-service etc.
Hopefully this becomes a trend and treatment options are not confined to whatever rep took the doctor out to dinner last.
