what if our government was blackmailed into pulling off 9-11?

this is an idea that just hit me yesterday.
now i have absolutly no evidence of this, just an idea.
what if some country or political faction or even an oil company had damaging information on our government or even a nuclear device,and used this to force them to destroy the WTC?
maybe they told the gov. to blame it on iraq so they could get a cut of the mid east's oil?
what do you guys think?
maybe ive been watching too many episodes of 24.
