Here's an interesting move by our politicos....
Do you work for a Patriot company? You don't know? What exactly is a Patriot company?
Well, if Rep. Jan Schakowsky gets her way, companies that meet certain criteria will be considered "patriot" companies and thus subject to a 5% tax
break on taxable income for a calendar year.
The criteria:
-- 90% of goods made in the U.S.
-- Does not pay top brass 10,000X the amount of the salary of the lowest level full-time employee
-- 50% of R&D in the U.S.
-- contributes at least 5% of wages to a pension fund
-- pays 70% of employee health plan
-- Is neutral in policy on union organizing
I don't know. Other than the laughable name of the bill, I'm on the fence on this one.
