I find it interesting that the Office of Naval Intelligence has somehow found itself involved with three of histories biggest controversies over american involvement in foriegn wars.

1)

It has been maintained that President Roosevelt (FDR) provoked the pearl harbor attack, knew about it in advance and covered up his failure to warn the Hawaiian commanders. FDR needed the attack to sucker Hitler to declare war, since the public and Congress were overwhelmingly against entering the war in Europe. It was his backdoor to war.

2)

Forty years ago today, President Johnson and top U.S. officials chose to believe that North Vietnam had just attacked U.S. destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin, even though the highly classified signals intercepts they cited to each other actually described a naval clash two days earlier (a battle prompted by covert U.S. attacks on North Vietnam), according to the declassified intercepts ...

3)

More than half of the people listed as missing in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack worked in the Pentagon's Naval Command Center ...

Were personnel in the Naval Command Center targeted by the attack?

Why is that so strange? The are a military intelligence organization. They would not be doing their job if they werent involved.
