I read this book the first time when I was in sixth grade. At the time, it became my Bible -- my infalliable glimpse into the grand conspiracy. And at the tender age of 13! Wow!
Then I got educated. Then I read about Mr. Cooper himself and his wild-ass theories. I mean, here was a guy who claimed that the Zupruter(sp?) film clearly showed Kennedy's driver as the gunman. Serioiusly? He even had this "digitized" video to outline the alleged pistol the driver used.
Today, I giggle at the idea that an entire outline of a conspiracy -- a white paper if you will -- was found by Cooper inadvertantly left in a copy machine. And while I'm going by memory here, I recall he indicated that the government would ban the right to bear arms and then announce marshal law due to terrorists and/or a plague overtaking America (a cover story for the alien invasion).
Then in later editions of the book, he included pictures of an "alien" being led away (and I'm not kidding here) in handcuffs by two community-grade actors in cliche trench coats and dark glasses. Coincidently, that same picture appeared in the ever-gregarious Weekly World News.
Sorry...had to laugh. If for no other reason than I spent a good portion of my impressionable youth as this man's disciple. Boy, what a dupe I was.
And anyone who adhere's to this man's theories should seriously consider a lobotamy.

The second idea, that our government may have cut a deal with “aliens”, was just plumb dumb. It was so dumb, that William Cooper, one of those who adopted this story, changed his tune the moment he bought a copy of my first edition, with the idea that he could abandon his old stuff ......But Cooper still doesn’t get it.
