It's being reported at CNN now as well

www.cnn.com...

"For a second night, three loud explosions shook central Baghdad on Tuesday after an apparent rocket attack on a coalition compound.

An Iraqi guard told CNN's John Raedler that one projectile exploded on the grounds of the former palace of Saddam Hussein. The palace is being used as headquarters of the Coalition Provisional Authority.

Witnesses said that smoke could be seen rising from inside the compound.

There have been no reports of casualties, and it is unclear if there was any damage in the compound -- which CNN's Baghdad Bureau Chief Jane Arraf said was the size of a small city. "

I gotta agree with EastCostKid on that one.

The US Department of Defense is banning any photographs or videotape of any US casualties (no pics of coffins with flags draped over them being unloaded or loaded).

Does that sound to you like the US is anywhere near winning? How can they "capture the hearts and minds" of Iraqis if they have to resort to censorship to keep the American people's support?

You'd figure people would learn that you CAN'T win a war vs guerrilla tactics, but apparently not.

Do a little searching on the web, you'll find that Vietnamese civilians used to run up to US patrols while carrying live grenades, and explode themselves, hoping to take out some soldiers.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

It's a travesty Jakamo, when I was in the Army - seems like a lifetime ago - our leaders earned their stripes in the killing fields of 'Nam. They vowed to remember the mistakes of their leaders, so that they would never again allow those things to happen to the troops coming after them - us. Their leadership was gold and we carried those lessons they bore right into the Persian Gulf War.

During that action, everything was planned correctly and executed as close to flawless as humanly possible. We trusted our leadership, they led us with honor and we won a brilliant victory - short of taking Baghdad.

The difference now, sadly, has everything to do with leadership, from Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz down. Those two clowns - with no experience - ran roughshod over their military planners and the CIA's best estimates. They cast aside the invaluable experience and judgements of those generals who had fought through Vietnam and Desert Storm on the ground. Casting aside their dire warnings and forecasts and forgetting every lesson we learned in blood has been our complete and utter downfall in Iraq.

They, the un-baptised by fire NEO CON lunatics, have led our military into a meat-grinder with no concievable end...

One has to wonder if that is actually what they want.. never-ending war.
