A couple screen shots I took yesterday from the water vapor loop as Ernesto approached the southern foot of Cuba. Notice how it appears to 'jump'
west (over the Sierra Maestro's) just when it looks like a direct strike on Guantanamo Bay.

Gtmo breathes a sigh of relief as the bay stays on the eastern edge of the storm.
And here we have the storm six hours later where it appears to have left a good bit of moisture in southern Cuba. But still leaving Gtmo high and
dry. The bluish outer band is right on the edge of the leeward side of the base,
