There should probably be a topic either written and agreed upon by Masons here or canned from some site that explains the basic tennants and other things from the Mason's perspective.

This way it would avoid anyone new comming here and being able to merely assert that "Masonry is the Devil" and then Masons rush to the scene to say what they've said a thousand times before.

Anyone else agree?

Yeah, let's give the masons here the favoritism and preferences they are so used to in their own circles and feel they deserve because of thier brotherly enigmatic sense of morality.
Ma Ha Bologna.
How about a pinned topic detailing their connections to Zionism and Kabbalist Rites so visitors can get a real sense of what they are talking about when they "assert "Masonry is the Devil"".

What makes you think that all Free Masons agree on the same issues? Are we to assume that all Masons are exactly the same in opinion and as such we need not have any more discussion about it?

Masons are not the devil. They are the DUPES of the devil.

If you're talking about a Freemason FAQ then that's a great idea in principle but a nightmare to develop in practice. Twitchy has exemplified the wide variety of opinion here about freemasonry, so it is doubtful we will be able to generate any common ground that isn't so watered down as to be useless.

There is always the alternative, and perhaps quite radical alternative, of posting the Truth. However as the Truth is not universally believed then we are back to square one.

Nice try though, and I'll back it if you can make it work.

Masons are agents of Light. Anti-masons are the DUPES of the Devil

I would be happy to help but the problem is no matter how many times we say it the same silly objections will still come up.

But hey it's worth a shot.

I would say Cin is correct in that there are various interpretations of Masonry among Masons, but I do think there's a few points that practically all Masons can agree upon:

1. Masonry is a fraternal institution dedicated to the practice of morality and good fellowship.

2. Masonry is highly individualistic, encouraging each member to practice his own religion and hold his own political ideals, provided only that they do not conflict with morality or law.

3. Masonry's ritual is philosophical in nature, and worthy of serious thought and study.

4. Masonry teaches that the only way society can be improved is by improving the individuals that compose society, which the fraternity attempts to do by constantly inculcating enlightened principles among its membership.

5. And that although Masonry is not primarily a charitable organization, the practice of charity is a natural side effect of the fraternity's teachings, and that Masons should support and contribute to charity, both organized and personal.
