The mark of the beast is not a birthdate. It is a measure. A birthday is not a measure, but a reference point in time.

A date from that point is a measure, however. Keep looking.

actually alot of specualtion has gone about that, its belived they translated it wrong,

they think it might be 616 661

but i sort of figured out something, if Jesus was half a man(555) and half God(777)

and hes inbetween wouldnt that make him 666?

As I understand it it reads 666 is the mark of the beast,It is not the date of the beast.
If it were a date there are quite a few dates that could be associated with 666 e.g.
6/6/66
6/6/06 and these 2 appear every 100 years.

As for what the mark is there are many threads on A.T.S. concerning what it may be.

Jesus was fully man and fully God, not half of each, he was both. Also, wasnt man created on the sixth day?

Edit: No, being born on the 6th of June 2066 for example doesnt make you the anti-Christ (although it could be a little un-nerving lol). The number is 'man's number', not a birthdate.

Yeah, thats a valid theory dgoodpasture. Mans number - if there were 6.66 billion on earth, then maybe it could be the mark of the beast.

I am still unsure though, because '666' was written, not 666 000 000 000.

It is not an issue of translation. 666 is a perfectly reasonable translation . . . in fact, I can't think of another translation that fits. Some versions of the text, however, say 616 instead. I don't know of any that say 661.

The number of man is 6. Not 555.

And is impossible to translate "numbers" wrong. There are over 5,000 different Greek manuscripts in the Majority Text, or Textus Receptus. (Received Text)

It also says "Six hundred, threescore, and six"

"score" = 20 years.

The "mark of the Beast" is a WILLFUL acceptance.
