Registry hacks are actually useful. Give you a hint:

.dll and .cpl files hold hidden icons inside, just like .exe files. Enabling certain settings can show you these icons whenever you see them in the Windows or in other folders as well. Just like .exe files.

PC can be boosted by enabling cashe for certain devices, several test settings can be enabled and you can add hidden features for Windows, or your devices.

Of course, it will not affect your system badly.
