today we are to hear on the U.N. Deadline and i think all Iran will do today is stall the process even more...at least thats the feel when i started reading this www.foxnews.com... but i really think all they will do is try to negotiate it even more, and then there is another sort of deadline set that will just fail...I mean if Iran is doing things of this nature www.foxnews.com... that gives the whole world reason to believe that there is activity going on at that plant that they really dont want anyone to know about....Look im not saying there intentions are bad...Honestly...I would like to believe they are using it for peaceful purpose's, but something deep down tells me Iran is plotting and scheming...Id like to here from you guys on the subject matter as well!

I'm all for nuclear power, i believe a nuclear power plant will benefit Iran limitlessly.
Clean, effecient power that's cheap, while they're selling off their oil reserves, they have everything set out for them. But here's the thing; If you have a high-powered nuclear reactor, why not use some of the uranium or plutonium and make up a contingency plan? I mean, a nuclear warhead will stop any country from plans of invasion.

I seriously don't know what to think of the Iranian president anymore. I think he fails to realise the potential of what's actually going on right now. He has way too much to lose.

I disagree I think the Iranian President knows exactly what is at stake. I encourage you to read the 18 page letter he wrote to Bush back in May.
He knows what's at stake now as in the past. He basically called our president out and then our media fires back saying the the Iranian President ATTACKS Bush in this letter which is completely untrue. But I guess they (media) we releying on the fact that most American's would not even read this letter and form their own opionion which I have.

I support Iran in terms of nuclear power. I also support their right to defend and obtain the same means of power that we have. We are not exclusive to these rights.

ALL very good insights into the subject, but in your honest oppinon do you really think the reason they are putting the U.N. through the ringer is for Nuclear Weapons? in my personal beliefs i believe there is a reason for the huge stall, and i do believe they are building Nukes...Theres way too much info to suggest something else is going on there right now...Its scary to think what this man could do if he got a hold of some...Im really not all for Isreal and there policy's, but this man has called for the destruction of Isreal, and i find any country that is calling for the DESTRUCTION of any other country is an issue that needs to be dealt with...But back to the subject what will the U.N. do now? Will they just sit there on there butts like they do most World Issues and not deal with them?

There sort of being PRESSURED into building them now....
I mean, with the rhetoric from the US, you'd be stupid NOT to try and build a weapon that will greatly increase your chances in an open conflict.

Its easy, Iran has to accept israel, stop the rhetoric and the nuclear weapons issue wont be such a riddle.. But clearly they cant, and if they cant accept a country, they cant have these horrible weapons.

If this does go into a conflict, its the iranians fault to begin with, but it will definately be the US and Israel that makes a complete and utter mess of it all.

Maybe thats the point?
Iran means Syria, Lebanon Iraq Afhganistan as all pretty much open battlefield.
thats a large piece of the region, and will ultimately effect every economy on the planet.

Iraq shows how vulnerable our economies and our freedoms are, yet no ones seriously trying to prevent it from going the next step.

Why are the USA being allowed to dictate all these events that are happening...
Now we're dividing iraqi's into religous ghetto's?

What have we become.

Israel will war with all surrounding countries and start to lose and the US will step in thats when Israel takes out Dome of the rock then you know the rest.
Then during all this China jumps Taiwan because we are to busy to help them and dare the US to do a damn thing.
Russia will continue supply anyone the US is at war with and dare the us to do a damn thing.
My guess hope it don't turn in to that but it's really ugly over there.

good thoughts, but what about Iran...I want to know what Iran is gonna do now?

I don't know what Iran is going to do now, but this I do know.

Concern that if Iran gets nuclear weapons it might be a threat to Israel is naive at best, and disingenuous at worst.

Only once have nuclear weapons been used in war. Since then, they have served mainly to deter their use by someone else. All of the world's nuclear powers have been involved in wars at least once since 1945, but none have used nuclear weapons.

Israel has nuclear weapons. Israel has been at war many times, but has never used its nuclear weapons. But if Israel were attacked with nuclear weapons, you can be sure that Israel would retaliate with its own nuclear weapons.

Even if Israel were nuked by a terrorist organization, she would probably retaliate against her various neighbors who all sponsor anti-Israeli terrorist organizations. That's if a nation were so foolish as to give nukes to a loose-cannon terrorist group to begin with, which isn't likely.

Iran knows this, as do we all. Iran, therefore, will NOT attack Israel with nuclear weapons. And neither will anyone else.

So -- if this is being offered as a reason to get tough with Iran -- it's being offered as an excuse, not the actual reason.

I also think it doesn't much matter what Iran does. Bush is determined to go to war with them. He will find a way to make a demand they cannot accept, and use that as a justification.

Well now is the time to detonate the suitcase nukes. Better not set them off in the U.S. cause everyone is aleady mad at them. Maybe Canada, yeah that's the ticket. Everyone loves those harmless canuks. If we blow up Canada then the whole world will support an Iran invasion.

Just trying to get inside Dick Cheny & Rummsfields head.

The problem is Iran have the perfect argument, theres nothing people can really do to stop them from making nuclear weapons because other countries have them as well. Its the argument anyone can use, why should you be allowed to have nuclear weapons and not us. I just hope bush doesn't order another invasion of yet another country or worse simply fire a nuke at them.

I think they are just going to keep on demanding to be allowed to develoup there nuclear research.

Because theres no real political benefit, or price if your Iran...

You have your own mass supply of oil, you have a young vibrant population, you have your regions backing... what are the US going to give IRan to encourage them to stop researching.. can you even name a rough estimate?

Iran wont accepting anything.. if they were honestly after peaceful energy, you'd accept it if it were offered to you, with benefits...

The only real course of action to STOP Iran continuing.. is.. lets be honest..

a military strike.

Sanctions will just piss off the next door neighbour, of the country your currently bogged down in. Eveantually Iran will grow tired of kneeling, and they'll probably take the WAR to America... in Iraq...so what good are sanctions?

The UN, are unfortunately toothless in the realm of making countries abide...
Who can blame them... how could they?

Mayb bush is sitting back, afraid of the situation..
Wondering if Israel are in enough of a twist, to pre-emptivley remove the stated nuclear threat that is approaching.
maybe bush is worried, the hawks in the white house.. and the Media are going to hijack the american military... and use it to defend israel, managing to convince enough Americans to beleive in the war on terror.

Imagine a situation, where Israel are having major resistence in the strikes on Iran, and demand the US interenes to save the situation.
The USA, refuses to get invovled...So Israel states there only course left is to use nuclear weapons in the defense of Israel.

That.. is a scary possibility.
