Chinnook Down In Iraq

CNN breaking news says the chopper was shot down with possibly 20 casualties.

Atleast 13 US soldiers dead!

Ouch! That's got to hurt.

It has to be the most dead in a single day.

Infact I expect the US haven't lost that many in one day for a long long while.

Since Vietnam???
Anyone know when the last time that many died in one day in action??

bloody hell the situation is getting worse in iraq day by day... they surely cant stay there for a few years there will be no soldiers left!!

It said that the deadliest combat day was March 23, about 28 american troops died on that date.

You're right, the situation is getting worse every day

I'm getting more and more convinced that a real democratic government in Iraq is impossible

Of which 15 dead at the moment..



CH-47 was shot down..

OP Anaconda in afganistan has the bloodiest day since Vietnam..

During that OP Hundreds US troops died or were wounded..

Including one SF company that had 100% casualities..

All Dead or wounded!

As they were landed in error into middle of Taleban/Al-Qaida strong point..

They were pinned down there for whole of the OP..

The trouble is that the 10,000 casualties they were prepared for were all Iraqi.

Straterx I really admire your victory or death attitude.I'm sure it will stir the US people to make further sacrifices.

Vietnam!? I hardly think this is Vietnam. Durring Vietnam I'm not even sure that 15 casualties would have been reported on the news. Tragic yes, but hardly the end of the world.

WE NEED TO PULL OUT RIGHT NOW!

Isn't this proof enough that the USA should revert back to its original defensive status as it was directly after the Revolution, rather than becoming the very imperialists that they rebelled against?
