The symbol of the republican party- thanks- I am in uk, so I missed this when it happened...
Capt. King, I'm from Kentucky. In our state, on the election ballot, the Republic Party is represented by a Log Cabin as in Abraham Lincoln. The Dems
on the same ballot are represented by a standing rooster. The Communist Party USA by a hammer and sickle. The Socialist Workers party by crossed
hammers. There are other parties typically on the ballot. The Prohibitionist, and the newer Libertarians and Henry Wallace Progressives, the States
rights Party in 1948, George Wallace’s American Party and so on. Someone in Ky assigns an emblem for each party, I suppose they check it out with
the party’s representatives.
By the bye, in the US, the Communist Party has been on the ballot for many years. They polled about 145,000 votes in 1932. Their high water mark. The
Socialist Party of Norman Thomas polled 600,000 votes that same year, also their high water mark. As we Yanks are often criticized from around the
world, we really have just one political party here, with two right wings. A right wing and a far right wing.
