ATI is introducing a new videocard with their R600 chip (GPU).

This chip will come with a FULL 64 complete piplines-the current leader is Nvidia with 32 full piplines.

Unless Nvedia has a real rwbit to pull out of it's hat, ATI may just move into the top spot in highend Vidcards.

ATI's R600 has 64 real pipes

ATI should quit trying to make bigger monster video cards and start working on fixing the drivers for already existing cards in my opinion. How useful is a lightning fast video card when you have to reboot your computer every 15 minutes because the drivers crapped on you.

Keep your old outdated ATI card if it ain't broken, you'll be disappointed at the newer stuff.

I hope AMD will fire incompetent ATI's programmers and improve the products a bit.

I recommend SLI, AMD dual, plus on off-brd aud. system.
Max ram, then a little overclocking to fine-tune.
This should increase subsystem delay time by a lot.

Like the link says: "Shocker"

Can you provide images of the new graphic device? I saw a really big card a couple of years ago. I wondered how you can insert this monster in a usual PC-Tower...

I will look for apicture of the card.

It is not that the card is so massive, physiaclly, it is massivly powerful.

To put that in perspective, nvidias top single card has 32 piplines compared to the new ATI's "64"

Her is a link to a pic of the card, btw, it appears to be a 2 slot design.
