Hi,
Some things to consider
1 -If time travel to the past were possible we'd already know about it, time travellers from the infinite future would have very likely travelled
back in time and told us all about it. There are lots of paradoxes that basically forbid travelling in time to our own past. (excluding the idea of
parrellel universes)
2 - Time travel to the future using relativity and speed of light travel is theoretically possible via time dilation due to differences relative
velocities. However, even if you managed to accelerate up to 90% of the speed of light, time dilation would only half your aging compared to your
observer on earth. You'd need to get up to 99.9% to really see any truely useful dilation.
To accelerate 1 ton of mass to 90% of the speed of light would require the energy of 30 Billion tons of TNT at 100% efficiency! Hardly achievable!
3 - Time is definitely NOT an illusion as someone stated. Time is a vector, it has both direction and velocity and is as fundamental to the universe
as mass and energy!
Cheers
Robbie
