Could the planes on WTC have cut the wires of an elevator, to make it hurl all the way down to the basement, destroying something that could cause a base explosion?

There was that thing that the janitor survivor said about a guy screaming about explosions and the elevators

No, the towers were constructed into three large sections to combat a "chimney" effect
in case of fire.

The planes hit above the 3 marker so if it cut any elevators they would hurdle
down yes but they would have stopped at the 3 marker section..

Yes a janitor said that he heard an explosion and saw dust comming from a elevator..and then he heard a muffled explosion but it was higher up,The screaming guy was probably William Rodriguez, he was located in the basement of the North tower, when he reported a large explosion on Sublevel B3, before the plane impacted. He escaped the building, in addition he escorted several people to safety.

His testimony was told to the 9/11 commission, but no explanation was ever given for the explosions.

Not quite. There was at least ONE express elevator that went all the way to the top. I know because I rode the damned thing. Your diagram isn't accurate.

Here's a more accurate diagram of the elevator scheme:

www.pbs.org...

For the most part, you're correct. However, there were at least two elevators that went beyond the limits you've shown. I have no idea whether they could account for the reported damage, I only offer this for the sake of accuracy and the fact that the elevator zones weren't quite as segregated as you indicate. It seems to me that there were at least two express elevators to the top of the building, but I could be wrong about that. However, there was at least ONE which went to the top in the south tower.

I'm not even going to bother trying to list all the errors and distortions in that statment. Even a 10000 character maximum isn't enough.

The freight elevator ran the entire height of the building, as well as going down to the lower levels.

I work in the elevator industry...

it is almost, I say almost impossible for an elevator to free fall very far these days... there are brakes and back up systems that prevent it.

I really don't think anyone has ever claimed that the elevators free fell, at least not the freight elevator.

The issue is more related to the jet fuel falling down the shaft and igniting.
