Well, Id be excited too, except for the source of this article. It's pravda, Russia's version of the World Weekly News. Not exactly know for reliable, truthful reporting.

Are there anymore sources about these pyramids?

Well, that figures. I didn't know that, and I do not have any more sources as of yet. Their may not be any but I'll keep looking around for a while. I was trying to find something to pre date anything from the Giza plateu to silence the TROLL who came here and disrupted things for a while, no names need be mentioned, the member is permanantly banned, and I say good ridance!! The theory was ok, but the attitude was way off.

Oh, that's funny!

The Pravda is basically stealing the stories of the Bosnian pyramid finds! Expect everybody and their dog to start announcing "pyramids" over any roughly pyramid shaped hill.

Not that I'm jumping to the defense of Pravda, but didn't it used to be the primary State-run paper under the communists? Not that that adds to it's validity, or integrity since the fall of the Soviets. Also, I enjoy occasionally reading the Weekly World News, especially the stories about my favorite little scamp, Batboy. Where will his adventures take him next? Perhaps to the Ukraine to dig up pyramids with Lucky, the Lucky Charms Lepruachan. That'd be cool!

Btw- the Batboy and Lucky section above may be the sole product of sleep deprivation, dangerously high levels of caffeine, and the stress of being an expectant father. Sam, come out of there already!

Papa,

Congrats, if I'm reading this right.

My son was born in 1999. His name is Sam.

Unfortunately, pravda just makes stuff up all the time. Its allways possible that there was a suprisingly advanced culture in the ukraine, but I wouldn't beleive it from pravda.

Thanks Harte!! His due date is in the middle of Sept. but he may have to come early (he's getting too big, ob-gyn says he's in the 97 percentile now, which if he stays that route will mean C-section).

I was trying to find something to pre date anything from the Giza plateu

there are hundreds of megalithic sites that predate Giza
Giza is officially 2550bce
thats just a teenager in some areas

Archaeology.org talked with the archaeologist in question, who said "no, it's not a pyramid. It's a big complex built on a hill."

I have a fairly deep knowledge of Russian history, and if there was a civilization that was complex enough to have built pyramids there thousands of years ago, itd be news to me.

Id also wonder why the rest of that part of the world sucked so much and didn't borrow some ideas from said advanced culture.

Thats just me though.

In a world supposedly billions of years old, what would be surprising ?
This story does have some factual basis even if its not a pyramid....
The idea that there are other sites oif similar status (buried pramids ot pyramydal shaped should niether shock nor upset anyone.
It IS the most basic form of structure being a pile of rocks....that could be produced...without modern machines....etc etc.
look at stonehenge....they rowed the stones with logs for many miles.....
how to raise the lintel?Tie quarter rounds about the outside of the stone to form two or more rolling surfaces and run them up a ramp of earth?
The discovery of this site Has led to other sites being suspect.....
