UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- The U.N. Security Council adopted a resolution seeking a "full cessation" of violence between Israel and Hezbollah, offering the region its best chance yet for peace after a month of fighting that has killed more than 800 people and inflamed Mideast tensions.

The resolution, adopted unanimously, authorizes 15,000 U.N. peacekeepers to help Lebanese troops take control of south Lebanon as Israeli forces that have occupied the area withdraw.

Undoubtedly, the timing is not to the liking of Iran, who needs to continue this proxy war through the Hezbollah, to weaken Israel militarily (to whatever extent) and isolate it diplomatically. Remember Iran had said that Israel should be wiped off the map?

In addition, they may not be too happy with the resolution per se, as the Hezbollah would now be relegated to the background and thus not be able to carry out Iran’s agenda, what with 15000 UN Peacekeepers on the Lebanese border.

Wonder what Tehran’s next move would be in this complex chess game being played out in the Middle East.

Well, considering the source, it definitely has a better than average chance of being wrong. So far all this guy does is run his mouth...which is a good thing.
