Israeli PM endorses U.N. cease-fire deal
JERUSALEM - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert endorsed an emerging Mideast cease-fire deal late Friday, after a day of dramatic day brinksmanship including a threat to expand the ground war in Lebanon.

Seems the French-US compromise on Israeli troop withdrawals boiled down to "as Israel withdraws" instead of "after Israel withdraws" or "before Israel withdraws". Dont you just love diplomacy sometimes...

Yep...UN Security Council voting on it right now. Latest reports are that Israel has pulled back some troops and equipment. The US expects a cease-fire to be implemented immediately after the vote. Israel howevere is saying operations will last until Sunday until which time the Israeli cabinet will talk about the resolution.

Well lets hope they give up the land mine maps too. Before kids get killed like last time when they wouldn't give the maps up.
