I don't mind seeing the ads because they do pay for stuff around here, but if they're actually keeping your computer from working correctly there
are several Firefox plug-ins that will allow you to disable macromedia. I'm using
Avant Browser (A free
Internet Explorer overlay) that let's you disable pretty much anything you want. (Pictures, Flash, Sound, Videos, ActiveX, Scripts, Java Applets.)
This is probably your best bet to get things working again, plus the tabbed browsing is cool.
Without Flash I wouldn't be able to wack the pink pony or hit the mailbox to claim my prize but I know where you're coming from. I had to upgrade
one of my kids computers last year because it wouldn't do the flash games on cartoon network. Some of these things are cpu intensive.
