Hi i recently found my old copy of RA2 and tried setting up a LAN with my brother... I've installed IPX. However whenever me or my brother create a game we can't discover each other in the network lobby.... any ideas?

several questions.
1)what operating system do U have on your computer?
2)what operating system does your brother have on his system?
3)Do either of you have a hardwear or softwear firewall?
4)have you tried "sharing" the harddrives?
5)Do you know it can take up to 20 min for computers to see eachother-an extreme case, but still true.

Ok so this is what i did....
I have windows XP sp2....
I installed IPX/SPX protocol...
Then i configuered the IPX/SPX properties for the internal network number to be different on each computer e.g. 0000001 and 0000002
Then i went to Red Alert 2... Then Options... Then Network Options... Selected my MAC address of each computer in the pull down menu.... And change the sockets to 12....
And Problem Solved
