Very nice job there ragster.... Vue or Terragen? I use both and make all kinds of wallpaper backgrounds ext.. What is really cool is that you can create .obj files in a free program like Anim8or, and import them into Vue, UVMapPro or Poser. You can import and export with many programs like these to get some really cool looking pictures.

Hey, you got some nice stuff there, ragster.

You should experiment a little, it seems you have a flair for this stuff.

Keep up the good work

I used e-on Vue Infinite 5 to make these photos, it does not take long, but the program is expensive. Anyways, if anyone wants to use any photos or has any requests for some crazy random design just let me know, peace

wow, you sure like saturn alot dont you.
i also have Vue 5 Inf but i think my computer/GFx card cant take the load. iff i make a procecural terrain(spelling? [the more complex terrain type]) and make it bigger, not change the complexity but simply the mesh size my computer will BSOD and reboot. this is very annoying as those terrains are the best to use especially for a wide open scene.

also have you experimented with the animation aspect of Vue? it takes time but the results are stunning. recently i made a 15 second long animation at 24Fps, 720x540px at the highest quality and it took a whole 24 hours to finish!

Those are bloody crazy. Vue, did you say the program was called?

I know one called Joyce or something like that, which does something like those, but it's impossibly hard to use. It took ages to just preview the image.

I don't know anything about .obj files or anything, but I'm sure I could learn. Hey, I taught myself to use photoshop . . . I deserve a medal for that

This one looks so real it amazed me:

yea saturn is pretty cool... hahaha, it just adds alot of texture and complexity to a background, its just so out there to have saturn on a sunset.... hahaha, next time ill use the moon hahaha

yea Vue 5 is pretty awesome, i wish i could getvue 6 xtream edition, but time will let it be

anyways, yea, there are a million programs out there, but I think e-on programs just capture the essence of realistic photo manipulation, as you saw, these almost could be real, if not exactly.

but you have to have a great computer to run the program, i have been using a computer with 2 cpu's and about a gig of ram, so it pretty much takes care of it, and video cards i have no idea, i know that really is notth emajority factor, so its all cool.

Yeah, well, I don't think 192 meg of RAM with a single 2.8GHz CPU is gonna get me far. Dammit.

Those pictures are so darn cool.

Damn thats some blooming awesome art you got going on there!!

i have a bit of a request if i could be so bold as to ask? I would love a piccie of a view looking from a mountain, down a valley to the sea.... It would need to be daylight and sunny, if that would be possible.

I have no 3d experience what ever and have no idea where to start doing terrain drawings / modelling.

Any help deeply gratefully appreciated.

Very nice Ragster.

I like the way you've modeled the water surfaces.
Great imagination.
