The mods will check the status of the game at some point this morning and will update the site with a counter (at least we hope so) as they have done in the past.

They use Urchin tracker (now Google Analytics) script to tracke UNIQUE referals to the site. We don't need to go into what consitututes a UNIQUE referal since this has been in the past.

We'll probably need between 150 and 200 referrals to continue. Last referral point was 125.

HUNT_ADMIN was in chat last night. I think he said we had 170 something referrals and would need 200 at some point in the future (Now) to continue.

I have posted the link on at least 12 sites today since we got the need more referrals message. I have a question though. Can we click through a link ourselves once we post it to make it register, or does someone else have to click through it?

Not many mods on right now so it may be a while before we hear from Hunt_admin. Meanwhile, we should take this break to collect our thoughts and try and find new sites to link the site to. I feel kind of skeazy doing it. But I'm not being all in-your-face about it. Mainly linking it in blogs or posting in my profile on ther sites I visit. Some forums even have link referral sections, the XMB forums used to, but I haven't been there in a while.

Everytime I sleep, we get to a bunch of super easy questions and fly through them. Then when I wake up, we're at something that stumps us or requires referrals.

Easier, if you're clearing cookies and restarting : I go to the tinwiki site, click the link, then hit the back button, then click the next link. I can go from first page to that last (#48) in about a minute.

Yuppers, I've linked prolly 25-30 sites since this morning, not sure if people have to actually use them to get the referral count up or if it is based on Google Spiders or something. Can anyone clarify?

I'd also like to see a count of referrals needed, and sites currently linked.

As I mentioned in the last referral phase, you have to have a unique domain AND unique IP. So clicking on your own links will not work.

Example:

1) myspace.com IP:124.56.4.34 (OK - assume it was a unique referral)
2) myspace.com IP:234.53.63.1 (NOT OK - not a unique domain)
3) ufoskickbutt.org IP:124.56.4.34 (NOT OK - that person's IP has already counted once)
4) cheese.com IP: 34.34.53.67 (OK - unique domain AND unique IP address)

So the only way to get new referrals is to spread the link and have new people click on them.

Oh yea don't forget that a link from fantasysports.yahoo.com is the same as a link from yahoo.com. So posting it again on blogspot or myspace is pointless.
