How many of you sleep with the night light on either in your bedroom or nearby?

I keep the nightlight on in the bathroom. If I need to go, I don't need to blind myself in the middle of the night turning on a full light. It's pitch black in the bedroom but I can feel my way thru the darkness into the hallway where it would be dimly lit from the night light in the bathroom.

But I wonder if some people keep a night light on for other reasons like being afraid of the dark or being susceptible to nighttime visitations when it's pitch dark.

Nights in the middle of nowhere with a starlit sky are brilliant.

Lights out at my place means lights out, unless I have fallen asleep during a particularly boring guest spot on Letterman.

Enough artificial lighting during the day for me. Welcome the blackness.

I keep a light on in the kitchen at all times. But other then that I sleep the majority of the time during daylight so I need all the darkness I can get, I usually cover my head with the blanket LOL!
My daughter sleeps with her TV on as light.

Well unfortunately there's a light in the basement that's perptually on, so I have a little light streaming into my bedroom. I find it to be really annoying and I too sleep with the covers over my head, or on my stomach.

I would think that somone that actually sleeps with a night light on should resolve their fears about death, the unkown and being lost. Of course, I'm just throwing some armchair psychology around

i have a habit of walking around in the dark, and leaving my windows open to let cool air in...

I keep the bathroom light on and the door closed which provides just enough light for our dog who doesn't like it when it's totally dark. (Big Dog with a Big Bark, but he's really just a Big Cuddly Baby!! It's Cute!!
)

Other than that I usually don't have any lights on unless I've left a bunch of Booby Traps to stubb my toe on. Then I might leave a very small light on somewhere so I don't kill myself tripping over something half asleep and fumbling around the room.

BTW: For those who don't know the "One Eye Open" Trick. If you get up at night you'll notice that you can see pretty well in the dark. Once you flick on a light though that's all over and on the way back to bed you stumble blindly in the dark. So before clicking on the light, close one eye and only the open one will lose it's night vision. Then when you shut it back off you will still be able to see out of that one good eye you kept close!

Interesting tip you got there. I'll have to try it some time.

mOjOm has every detail of his life mapped out remarkably. I'm going to try that one.

Generally in pitch black I know enough about the lay of the land to get anywhere in my house without looking, unless someone leaves somthing silly lying around (usually me).

Song Of The Day (Soundgarden, of course)

This refers to unsuccessful ATS research techniques, and not to mOjOm's night vision technique...

Painted blue across my eyes
And tie the linen on
And I'm on my way
Looking for the paradigm
So I can pass it off
Is it on my side
Is it to the sky
Looking to the sky and down
Searching for a ground
With my good eye closed
If I took you for a ride
Would you take it wrong
Or would you make it right
Looking for a pedestal
That I can put you on
And be on my way
Is it to the sky
Looking to the sky and down
Searching for a ground
With my good eye closed
Stop you're trying to bruise my mind
I can do it on my own
Stop you're trying to kill my time
It's been my death since I was born
I don't remember half the time
If I'm hiding or I'm lost
But I'm on my way
