"The "Mission Accomplished" sign, of course, was put up by the members of the USS Abraham Lincoln saying that their mission was accomplished. I know it was attributed somehow to some ingenious advance man from staff..."

- George W. Bush (10/28)

BILL PRESS: Bush said...the crew of the ship put that sign up. Now we find out the White House has just confirmed, we just got this handed to us...Senior Navy officials now confirm the sign was in fact produced by the White House.

Washington Post Editorial - May 3, 2003:

In May 2003, White House aides told the Washington Post they "chose" the "Mission Accomplished" banner for a specific purpose - they intended to convey a message that, since the Iraq issue had been successfully and sufficiently "handled," the regime was free to focus on other, more pressing domestic matters:
Still, it's also impossible to agree with the banner that was draped near Mr. Bush on the carrier deck, proclaiming "Mission Accomplished." Aides say the slogan was chosen in part to mark a presidential turn toward domestic affairs as his campaign for reelection approaches.

Quote of the Day

"I guess that next thing we are going to hear is that the sailors told him to wear the flight suit and prance around on the aircraft carrier."

- Four star general, war hero, brilliant scholar, Wes Clark on pipsqueak AWOL squatter's assertion that the sailors were to blame for the now infamous USS Lincoln photo op banner.

www.thebostonchannel.com...

I tell ya, it was an affront to so many people that our supposed CINC would not only play dress up in a uniform he never earned, send a returning-from-theater ACC back out to sea because it was too close to shore & land can't be in the background of the pics to justify the photo op....but to also be a pathological liar & state that the military would want and authorize that little Caesar foray into egomania.......so ultimately pathetic.
Anyone thinking that there "are no alternative candidates" really hasn't been paying attention - EVERYONE is better than this embarrassment.

So what will it be this time guys?

All us lefties gunning for the wee-dork?
or
Will you find another way to blame this on Bill Clinton too? Amazing you guys can still find ways to blame Bill for shrubs idiocy even 3 years after the friggin' election is over!!! Typical but still amazing!!

How many times are you guys willing to prop this little court appointed dictator up?

It's to a point now he's almost laughable... almost!!
If not for 3+million unemployed Americans and the innocent American military kids being butchered for a war that should never have happened, that is still happening under false pretenses fabricated by Cheney and shrubs band of criminals!!!

If not for all of that, I'd be laughing my arse off!!!

Dean in 2004!!!!
