A Syrian-made bomb exploded on Monday near an IDF patrol on the Syrian side of the border fence in the Golan Heights.

There were no reports of casualties.

Were the IDF in Syria???

Could this be a prelude to a strike against Syria?

Hmm, only time will tell.JPOST

It should not surprise anyone if Syria is brought into the conflict, US and Israel refuse to negotiate with the nation of Syria into helping stop Hezbollah attacks.

Syria is the one nation that could accomplish some results.

But that is no the idea, the idea is to get Syrian involve and then Iran, Iran been the major goal to the whole middle east crisis and the fights of Israel against Lebanon.

OK I think it meant that the IDF were patrolling the border and a bomb went off on the Syrian side.

Although I do wonder how close the bomb was to the fence, Why was a bomb so close?

waiting on more info.

I guess its fair since they are bombing close to the syrian border so Syria is playing their game. Israel is trying to provoke them into attacking, and so far Syria has been playing it smart.Israel will have to do something if Syria doesnt take the initiative. Israel is playing games now that they are back in Lebanon and wanna use Lebanon as the battlefield again. They are clearing off the playing field right now to prepare.

Without more info it could have just been old ordinance laying around there going of because of tremors caused by the Israeli vehicules or something like that.

Before anyone goes saying thats unlikely, check google for old ordinance and mines going of all over Europe, Afrika, South America, Asia and so forth.

Heck, even here in belgium, the bombsquad has to pull out douzens of times a year to clean up old WW bombs and shells that turn up when people are digging or farmers are plaughing their fields.

A few months back one of the farmers ran into a 500lbs sucker that was ready to go.

The reason why this is reported now in international news, is because in these situations, everything gets reported, be it to fuel the fire or plain simply be complete in coverage of the going ons over there.

Well if it was in the Golan Heights then that is Syrian territory. It was illegally annexed by Israel so if the IDF was in there they are violating Syrian sovereignty.

Also I'd need a bit more proof than an article from the Jerusalem Post before believing Syria is in the business of IEDs.

Landmine exploded Sunday on Syrian side of Israel-Syria border on Sunday; military officials say incident possible attempt by Hizbullah to drag Syria into conflict.

Heres the link

Ynetnews

"A senior IDF officer said recently that Hizbullah may even go as far as intentionally firing at Syria to escalate regional tensions"

Wow, shows just what we are up against.
