Obsession: What The War on Terror Is Really About

Just finished watching a video, I must say it is a very powerful documentary.

I will forwarn that it is very graphic in places.

Before watching this I was very anti-war and completly against Isreal's onslaught of lebanon. now I must admit I have a much different perspective.

I am now POSITIVE I will remain confused about 99% of the world events for around the last 10years, untill either a zionist/neo-con/nazi/nuke/*insert terrorist org name* comes knocking on my door and explains why he wants to sell me.

I fail to understand why people lust after the need to feel superior over someone else or their beliefs, so much to kill.

Could this documentary just another propaganda tool, a trump card if you like for the neo-cons, this is not my opinion however, the information contained is very graphic, and hits close to home... especially that clip of the burning truck.

I did do a search on ATS for this vid but it came up with no results, sorry if it has been posted allready.

I have two threads here on ATS that I think you might find of interest, obviously there are alot of 'reasons' for a 'war' on 'terror', but chief amungst these and little known to the general public is the justifications of greed and power. As cliche as that might sound, there is little doubt of this in any given war at any given point in human history. Yeah well some people, in fact a whole lot of people think that it was OUR wonderful PNAC members
who exploited a small handfull of crazy patsies to get this ball rolling.

When masses of mostly ignorant, illiterate and jobless people are manipulated by a handful of
people hungering for power and wealth anything is possible.

Another thing often completely ignored is the fact that our wise leaders are essentially treating these people not much differently than the European settlers treated any other native tribes.

In no uncertain terms, they have something that we want and our captains of industry want to
get their clutches on it before someone else does.

The extreme right wing neo-cons were driven to do anything necessary to establish bases in the Middle East to prevent any possible interuption to the flow of those natural resouces.

It's that simple.

Although this thread is deals with the War on Terror, it is not about actual events in the WOT, but why there is war, what are the politics of war.
As such, I think this thread belongs in Politics @ ATS, Politics of War.
