Dutch party wants to normalize pedophilia

People in the US are often characterized as being sexually uptight when compared to some countries in Europe. But if this is an example of the direction that Europe is taking, then I'll thankfully remain uptight.

(CNSNews.com) - Members of a fringe political party in the Netherlands, who recently won a court case allowing them to field candidates for seats in the Dutch Parliament, believe it should be permissible for adults to have sex with children.

Norbert DeJonge, secretary of the political party PNVD, a Dutch acronym that translates into "brotherly love, freedom and diversity," told Cybercast News Service that there is nothing wrong with pedophilia or bestiality, the latter of which is legal in the Netherlands, as long as the child or the animal involved, demonstrate consent.

"[L]et's take a child that isn't able to speak. Just like an animal -- even a baby is able to smile or to cry when it respectively doesn't like something or does like something," DeJonge said. "So the question is not whether an animal or a child can show its resent[ment] or give its consent. The question is whether the adult will notice the expression of the animal or the child and what its feelings are."

So if a child is too young to verbalize his/her consent, then the pedophile is supposed to read the kid's facial expression? Are you kidding me?

Has nobody ever told this guy that babies will smile when they have gas?

And how do you read the face of a goat, after all?

And just in case the child shows some reluctance toward their moves, they offer this:

The party also argues for the private possession of child pornography; the right of children to smoke drink and vote at the age of 12, to use "soft" drugs like marijuana at 12 and "hard drugs" like coc aine and heroin at 16. Party members feel this is consistent with their platform that states "people should have as much freedom as possible as long as they don't harm others."

And how did this sick idea progress so far?

The Hague District Court recently refused to ban the party from the country's Nov. 22 elections, stating that it is "the right of the voter to judge the appeal of political parties," according to the Associated Press.

Talk about your liberal courts!

I'm sorry, but this is too much. Is it something in the drinking water over there? How could the courts ever allow these people to be on the ballot in the first place?

For a backgrounder of what has already been discussed, I suggest reading it and gaining a better perspective on the subject.

Personally, the very notion disgusts me and can't see the party getting anywhere with this, regardless of what freedom of speech and association can allow through the courts.

I was born in Holland and have connections to many family members there and I can tell you that such activity is surely abhorred by the majority of Dutch people.

Anyone trying to pretend this is 'mainstream' in Holland or and an indication of (any) nation's or (I see there was no restraint in going for the full sweeping generalisation with a silly comment about an entire continent's) values is simply deluded, crassly ignorant and/or outright lying.

I'd also be pretty sure that if the 'standard' to be used in this kind of 'discussion' is (quite literally) a handful of ding-bat loons on the extreme holding and pushing an extreme agenda then I'd suggest that an American in an all-glazed house really shouldn't be lobbing those kind of stones around, hmmmmm?

not to mention the fact that 'touch my pp and i'll buy you an xbox' would construe consent.

i also agree that this party represents a small minority of people not only in this scenario but just about everywhere.

As stated by other members but bomber refuses to listen because of his own personal views on Europe and Liberals, this party is a small radical liberal party with extreme views. This party is not in power in holland and hence does not represent its people. It is like making a topic "Americans want to normalize racism" and then post some statements from the KKK and say that this is the way the "crazy american" thinkins. I believe you should correct the heading to, "Dutch political party wants to normalize pedophilia".
