We used to do that as kids in grade school, but rather than use a scooter, the design of our "merry go round" was open in the middle, and it was
tilted so you could walk on the inside of it like a treadmill.
We'd get a couple of kids walking in it, and pretty soon the thing would be spinning at about 2 revs per second, which is pretty fast considering how
big it is. Then dumb kids like myself would try to grab the bars from the outside as they went around, so you'd be hanging on, completely extended
from them for a few revs before it slowed down.
I remember losing my grip once and getting my little 2nd grade body tossed about 20 feet. Scraped me up pretty good. Pretty fun, otherwise.
